Go Abroad After Graduation

Our 49ers who study abroad tend to get the travel bug and develop a passion for international experiences. Our alumni are very much encouraged to go abroad again! Interning or finding a job abroad after UNC Charlotte is an exciting way to continue developing intercultural competencies and to gain professional experience. Unfortunately, EA cannot advise or assist students if they’re not currently matriculated at UNC Charlotte, but we’ve compiled a list of resources below that may be of help. Please note that the EA/UNC Charlotte does not endorse any of the companies listed on this page. These resources have not been approved or vetted and are simply recommendations from other UNC Charlotte study abroad alumni.

FULBRIGHT

The Fulbright program provides grants for individually designed study or research projects following their Bachelor’s Degree or for English Teaching Assistant Programs. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. Students who are interested in applying for a Fulbright are required to meet with UNC Charlotte’s Fulbright Program Advisor, Brad Sekulich, to discuss the application process and timeline prior to the campus application deadline. The Fulbright national deadline is September 15, 2023, 5:00pm Eastern. Students who do not submit an application by the UNC Charlotte campus deadline may still submit an application to Fulbright by the national deadline but they will not be interviewed by (and thus miss the guidance offered by) the campus review committee.
