Pre-Departure Orientation

Students participating on a year, semester or summer study abroad program will be required to attend the Pre-Departure Conference hosted by EA. At the conference, students attendees choose from several 30-minute information sessions that they feel will best help them prepare for their time abroad. The conference will end with students participating in region-specific meetings, in which EA staff will share essential health and safety information. Recently returned study abroad alumni will also be present to share their perspective and expertise through a Q & A session. The conference is typically held in late-October/early-November for Spring and Calendar Year students and early April for Summer, Fall, and Academic Year students.

NOTE: Students participating on a fall break or spring break faculty-led program will attend a Pre-Departure Webinar. Students will need access to a computer (and headphones if in a public place) to view the webinar. The day and time of the webinar will be communicated to the students by EA once the program is confirmed.
